Standing in my 86 year old dad's hospital room I am drawn to the window. The trees and grass are just about to burst into life while my hero is lying in bed fighting for his. He's been here before, unsure of the outcome. Getting old is hard. Watching your loved ones' bodies wear out is hard. Making decisions for them is hard.
Fortunately I have a village of support. I have a family that is close. We are a team when it comes to caring for our parents. From friends that have taught us about VA perks to attorneys that have guided us, we are still a work in progress.
Not everyone lives just down the road from mom and dad. With or without siblings it is very lonely at times. Estate planning is most important for the living. And then there is so much stuff!
It is my intent to pass along helpful information in this blog so please come back.
